Rev. Dr. Sean Brubaker

Pastor/Head of Staff

Pastor Sean and his family have been with us at Calvin since January, 2013.   Mission and evangelism are the heart of his call to ministry and his passion is for seeing lives changed by the gospel of Jesus Christ.  He loves the outdoors, hunting, hiking, and a variety of sports.  Once in a while, you may catch him playing the saxophone.  Pastor Sean is a graduate of Geneva College with degrees in Cross-Cultural Ministry and Music.  He received his M.Div. from the Pittsburgh Theological Seminary and his D.Min. from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary.

John Van Gorder

Organist/Choir Director

John is a superbly talented musician.  He accompanies worship with with the pipe organ and leads the choir.  John received a bachelor's degree in music from the University of Cincinnati-College Conservatory of Music and a master's degree in sacred music from Duquesne University. Prior to coming to Calvin Presbyterian Church in October 2003 as Organist/Director of Music, John has served several churches in Pittsburgh, Western PA, and Ohio. He is also a private music instructor, teaching piano to students of all ages. He and his wife Elaine have two adult children; their son Ryan and his wife Angie live in Apex, NC with their daughter; their daughter Jennifer and her husband Greg Banyay live in Ellwood City along with their four sons.  John is also a talented woodworker.
